Based on what they did while at LSU, Les is clearly superior. WHY may be open for debate, but Nick only lost less than three games one time.

Looking at the why is the only way to look at this situation logically. One replaced a coach who was fired. One replaced a coach that left because he received total control of an NFL franchise. Which situation do you think was better to walk into?

I'm not going to change anybody's mind, just like my opinion isn't changing. It doesn't matter.

No, it isn't. It's an entirely different question. It would read something like this...

"Which LSU coach would have performed better at LSU if they had had to build a program following a bad run?"

Sure, that scenario is hypothetical in its entirety, but at least it's honest. The other way we have one coach that gets to be graded on a curve based on the assumption that he did a better job because of what he walked into, and another coach that gets slammed because he had an easier first day. In essence, both of those views are biased views rather than honest assessments of their time at LSU.

Either compare them as is, without any caveats or don't bother asking the question.

As is, the records and overall success WHILE AT LSU speak for themselves.

Your opinion is illogical, uninformed, and silly. You are rebuked.

I agree somewhat, Saban left Les great players, but those players were completely gone 6 or 7 years ago. Les has been the greatest overall coach LSU has ever had. Consistency is important.
