Tons of fail in this thread. People living in south Louisiana have a skewed opinion of public schools.
I teach in a Texas public school. I teach a specialized subject, which means for the most part my students want to be in my class. I couldn't imagine teaching a core subject.
I'd be willing to say that teachers can last 5 minutes in a 'real' job more often than 'regular' people lasting 5 minutes in a teaching job.
There's many perks to teaching. It's a shame it has a bad reputation on here. As for summer nearing an end...it doesn't bother me.
