Not for the summer months, no. They get paid for 182 days. 

If you think getting a check = getting paid then figure your salary on 182 days, divide it by 12 and take the summer off too. 



Correct, we do not get paid during the summer or for holidays. We are paid for 182 days of work that happen to be between the first week of August and the 3rd/4th week of May. If we choose, we can hold out money each pay period to go into a summer fund. Some do; some do not. I do. This is the case for most school districts across the nation. Some districts force teachers to do this; Ebr does not.
