Is it worth the money to get a video style monitor or is it just a waste of money?

Why do you need the monitor? I mean, if you child is crying, will you just look at the monitor and watch it to see if you really need to go in there or not?

Soon enough you will learn the difference between a hungry cry, a whine, a diaper cry, etc. The video monitors are a total waste IMO.

Neither. You will hear the kids cry without it. Plus, a little crying doesn't hurt.

We actually took back a video monitor that we got at a baby shower and bought a monitor that goes under the mattress, it alarms when the baby stops breathing for a certain period of time. I think it was called angel care. We love it and will use it whenever we have another.

I got a video one. I can link it to Skype so I can watch sports and have the monitor on the side thanks to my XB1.

GET THE VIDEO, especially if you are a new parent. We started off with non-video and would run into the room when we heard every little peep. With the Video you can look and see if he's settled himself down before you go after them. That will come in handy in the middle of the night.

Holy shite yes it's worth it. It's worth three times the price. No need to get the wifi but definitely get the video.
