So why all the vitriol for Bush? If you think this is unique to this president and this era you are ignorant of history. But, by all means, keep relying on the crutch for the simple minded…cries of racism.

Jake, you're right in the sense that it isn't new with this president. But with Obama, don't you think with some people it is racism? Just like when we have a woman president, some will be based on sexism.

Very little. The only people you could say it was about race would be those who held to democrat party beliefs prior to his election and now oppose his implementation of those beliefs. Unless, maybe, those previously held beliefs were based on youth or ignorance. Those of us on the right disliked his policies when they were Clinton's and Carter's policies as well.

He gets no more hate than Bush and, in fact, likely less. No one camps out at his private residence spewing anger towards him, few burn him in effigy, few put swastikas on his image, few march in protest screaming obscenities and threats as they did Bush.

Of course, for SOME.

But I can bear witness to White folk I've long known, who - because of interacting with many fine Black folk and having sports heroes who are Black - had pretty much ditched the racial stereotypes that are hurtful and societally pernicious. BUT...given the blatant on obvious highly publicized chip-on-the-shoulder ("the police acted stupidly", "if I had a son..." and Holder's racial Law policy) presidency of Obama with his race politics too........well...there are real doubts and real racism on the rise, that might be casually sluffed off as unjustifiably racist...but now have taken on a statistical and existential validity. Think Detroit. Think Trayvon. Think OJ.

Holder and Obama have stirred real racism in a lot of folk who had overcome, with their race politics. Ugly stuff. God only knows where it could go from here.
