This doesn't really affect us at this time, but it will come next weekend.
UK media outlets are now reporting that Ross Barkley has suffered a knee injury in training today and is ruled out of action for at least 6-8 weeks. He'll have a scan in the coming days to assess whether the damage is worse than the preliminary diagnosis and if it requires surgery or not. That is a MASSIVE blow to Everton.
This is noteworthy in this thread as we go to Everton next weekend after having to travel to Turkey on Tuesday to play Besiktas.
Everton has about as tough an opening to the season as anybody in the league, playing Arsenal and Chelsea before the end of August, and then also playing Liverpool for the first time during the time that Barkley is supposed to be out.
