we really weren't that strong at the rb position in the 80s?

We were strong. Just not as strong as we are now.

Dalton Hillard, Gary James, Harvey Williams all did well in NFL. Plus Eddie Fuller during that time. I could agrue that Sammy would have done better if we weren't so talented.

This talk about Sammy Martin got me thinking about some rumors I've heard that Trey Quinn is the fastest of the incoming freshman. I find that a little hard to believe but his 4.39 40 time is faster than both LF and Dupre among incoming offensive skill players.

This is correct. Sammie played from '84-'87. Hlliard & James from '82-'85. Harvey, Eddie, and Windom (?) from '86 on.

Sammie had speed and caugt the ball well. Seemed to recall we lined him up at receiver a lot.
