The engineer that thought of putting these on ramps is a moron. I ignore them.

Why would lights be put on the ramp? Now the driver has a lesser distance to accelerate
into the interstate, where people are already driving over 70 MPH. I am just curious to what his reasoning was behind putting these cameras on here.
It wasn't a well thought out idea.

you're the moron pretty much

i will concede that on certain onramps the lights are too close to the merge area, not giving them enough time to accelerate

but generally the lights are operating during peak flow, when the speed is not really 70mph

Sit down a minute and think about why. Or maybe, wait for it, google why they're there.

Actually, you're the moron. They help, and there are countless studies thats how it.

But some random ding dong on the OT probably knows more than people that studied this and get paid to design it. Sure is a lot of that going around lately.

They've been in use for more than 60 years in other places and they do work to prevent a cluster of vehicles from entering at the same time and not being able to merge. It spaces them out and allows for a smoother flow. BTW, they're only operational for a few hours inbound in the morning and a few hours outbound in the afternoon.
