At least Robert Jordan sat down with several people and told them how he wanted his story to end and made sure the story would be finished.
I don't know enough about Martin to like or dislike him but if his will actually states that then F him.
Yes he created a great story but people reading said stories put the dollars in his bank account and to go out like that would be a tremendous punk arse move.

I think HBO has permission to finish the story arc in the event he passes. Even then, do you really want to read some half-assed fan fiction or ghost-written book?
