The fact is: Neighborhood used to be mostly white and fairly safe. Now it's mostly black and not safe.

Are you just juxtaposing those two facts together for no particular reason at all - just to be random - or do you have a point?

You can come up with your own reasons as to why that is, but it's beside the point.

I'm actually more interested in yours.

My point was simply that the neighborhood is almost the complete opposite of what it used to be.

So the grass is yellow? All the driveways empty out into people's backyards? Do old folks gradually become younger and younger until they are born? Complete opposite, right?

I told you my point. Why are you being obtuse? My point is that the demographics of the neighborhood have changed a lot. What was once a predominantly white neighborhood with middle-class families is now a predominantly black neighborhood with low-income residents.

Once again, you're being obtuse. You know what I mean. In the context of our discussion on the characteristics of a neighborhood (demographics, income, crime, etc.), the neighborhood is completely different.
