the ONLY way you get into a legit non-sales finance gig, is by looking for small town jobs that pay nothing but you can use to "show" experience. Tons of competition for almost zero jobs...even with a master's. ..you need to sacrifice to get in.

Small town government job in some type public finance may work as youd be the only one with a masters applying
by "pay nothing" how low we talking about here. i'm not expecting a big starting salary but I was hoping for at least something decent

Small commercial banks are paying ~40k for a jr analyst. The bigger banks are 25-50% higher, but are probably going to be looking for finance experience. Still worth a shot, though.
