I am thinking of making a switch from the Iphone to a Galaxy 5. What are the pros and cons of this switch? Is Galaxy that much better than the Iphone 5s?
TIA
TIA

Don't get a galaxy. Either get the htc one m8 or wait a few weeks for the LG G3.

I see no problem with getting the galaxy. I have had the s3 since it came out and it's been great. I plan on getting the 5 next month.

I have the S5. Feels cheap, and S Health blows. Get a different phone.

What is this and why is it so bad?

It's the app for your health/fitness. Takes your heart rate, track your steps, etc. It sucks because it updates all the time, the updates require you to download other 3rd party apps to run the app correctly, you have to give permission for it to access everything in the universe, and, after every single update, YOU HAVE TO REENTER YOUR INFORMATION ALL OVER AGAIN. It's a pain.
The build quality of the phone is garbage. The phone feels cheap, real cheap. It actually feels hollow when you tap it. Is it fast? Sure, but what phone isn't fast these days? In fact, sometimes the pages I load don't load all the way. It's kind of a crappy phone, if you ask me.
The camera is really nice, though. Also, I like that it is water resistant, but I haven't been ballsy enough to test that out.
Oh, and the phone has froze on me once already. I've had this phone for maybe two months. It froze because I was in a group text and someone tried to call me. I guess the phone couldn't handle it.

Isn't the Galaxy s5 premium or "f" coming out next month?

it's not better than the iPhone 5S.

Or wait until September and get the best phone that will come out this year the iPhone 6

I got the S5 about two months ago and at first I hated it. It became non functional while on vacation and needed a "hard reset". Since then it has been better but I still dont like how you have to answer calls with sweeping the green phone icon, sometimes it doesnt work and I cant answer the call. Another thing is the screen doesnt work sometimes when online, I tap things but nothing happens. Also there are ads that I cant get off the screen. I tried to remove but they wont go in the trash, amazon, s health, galaxy essentials etc..
The camera is pretty hard to beat.

This happens to me too. It's a pain in the arse. The phone is okay, but for a MSRP of, what, $800!?!? I expected more, much more.

HTC One (M8) or LG G3. I have the HTC One (M7) and my wife has the LG G2 and they are easily the best phones we have ever dealt with. HTC is really stepping up their game with updates also. They have already announced they will provide Android L (4.5) within 90 days of getting it.

Yeah, I owned the HTC Inspire 4g, and it was a horrible phone. They have definitely upped their game since then.
I know people hate on BlackBerry, but my Z10 worked so well. The only thing it was missing was apps and a good camera. Now I have the S5, and I feel like I got screwed.

Pros. Very nice screen, bigger screen, better battery life (depending on usage). Fantastic camera, possibly better than the 5S depending on what you like in a camera.
Cons: plastic and feels cheap. Freaking TouchWiz UI is laggy as hell, lots of garbage bloatware from the carrier and samsung. Bunch of stuff that only "kinda" works like the fingerprint scanner and air gestures.
My verdict: don't get it if you have an iphone 5S. If you really want something else just wait for the LG G3, get the HTC One M8 or wait for the iPhone 6.

Sell your S5 and come over to HTC M7 or M8. Rooted and on Viper One is freaking awesome.

Air gestures only sometimes works on my phone too.

This bothers me as well. You can't uninstall it either.

Plastic is for the impact. Don't you put a cover over it? Touchwiz can be gotten rid of by rooting. Bloatware can be disabled or uninstalled by rooting and just turn of the gesture stuff.
Wait.... IIRC the S5 can't be rooted is that correct at the moment?

Nope. I've had every iPhone except the 5 and have never once used a case. Why buy a good looking phone and hide it?

That's not an option for me as I use my phone for work. No rooting or jail breaking unfortunately.

But I actually wanted to use them. Its just disappointing when you realize that a feature that lead you to buy the phone is half-assed. It was the case with the S4 and still doesn't seem to work right in the S5

I think there is a root available on ATT? I could be wrong as I don't flow samsung much anymore.
