How about this:
quote:

They don't realize that the machine is carrying the momentum for them. Hell, you stop moving on the elliptical and it keeps on going. Why is that? Because it's a freaking momentum machine, that's it. Hell, you have to force it to stop so you can get off of it.

Ellipticals are not "momentum machines"...a term you made up BTW. As to how you burn calories on an elliptical...well, they have resistance settings as well as incline settings. Resistance being the key word here. Resistance is what takes away the momentum a body builds up while in motion. That momentum has to be replaced constantly, hence the user constantly replenishes the momentum using their muscles.

...but someone as fit as you understands how muscles work, right?

I stand by my earlier statement. Your earlier pseudo-scientific post is an abortion. I'm dumber for having read it. May God have mercy on your soul.

Elliptical machines are useless and carry momentum just as I stated. If they worked, you'd see them used in physical therapy. I work in a hospital, out PT doesn't have a single one. I even discussed this with the Dr. in detail. People make little to no gains on them, proven fact. Yes they have resistance settings, doesn't mean people are using them. Free weights are and always will be the better route, go learn something and stop trying so hard.
