Silverado Speaker Recommendations

I have an '05 silverado and as expected, the speakers are all blown to shite, so I would like to replace them....
I would like to keep the current (original) radio and listen to sports and talk with some music thrown in during the off season...
should I go back with a new set of speakers from the dealership or is there something out there that would work better?....

Go to crutchfield and order speakers and install them. Shouldn't take more than an hour to replace them all.

I haven't dealt with car audio in a couple of decades...are there particular brands now that are desireable or that I should stay away from?...

I'd just check the reviews. You're not going to get the most out of them with a stock head unit.

THIS.
Don't buy anything fancy. Go to Crutchfield, do the what fits my car thing, and buy the cheapest ones. They will still sound better than your stock speakers ever did.

Use Crutchfield to see what sizes you need. Then order them off of Amazon. Pioneer, kicker, alpine, etc...will all sounds good. Don't go back with stock speakers.

Stupid response. All vehicle manufactures have low end to high end stereo systems depending on the package in the vehicle you're buying.

I use sonic electronix for my car stereo stuff. As a whole, they are cheaper than anywhere else

Is it a stock factory system or a bose system? Huge difference in the two wiring schemes. Also find out what your stock amp is rated for wattage wise and pick speakers that their RMS is just a little bit higher than the radios RMS. Definitely go aftermarket speakers like Alpine, Pioneer, Kicker, or Infinity.

Look up Focal Speakers.
