I don't think there is a "greatest" novel ever. Off topic, I'm currently reading House of Leaves and I can recommend it if you want to slowly lose your mind for 700 pages.

True, you'd never reach agreement on this. for summer reading though, you can't beat the novels of Donald Goines and Iceberg Slim. Google 'em for details.
