How do you not get sent off for BITING another player?

Am I the only one that's dumbfounded as to why Suarez wasn't sent off this morning?
The referee sends off Marchisio for a challenge barely worthy of a yellow card and then doesn't even give Suarez a yellow for biting?
I didn't watch the game but I saw the highlight of the bite, it was fairly obvious. Not to mention the bite marks on Chiellini's shoulder...

The ref... he was Mexican. Everything he's seen in the Mexican leagues, that's probably didn't cross his mind.
