My company wouldn't. In fact, I don't want my next raise to be monetary. I want another week vacation.

When I was negotiating my current position after the initial offer I countered with same salary and 2 extra weeks of vacation.

Which is fine. The OP wanted to get a higher salary because the company policy for a new employee wasn't the same as the policy at the company where he put in the time to get the extra week. I can see asking for an extra week but not salary in lieu of it.
