The problem with Khan isn’t so much the material – it’s that his interpretation of the material on tests differs from the objective facts he actually teaches in his lectures and the textbook. I truly believe that Khan offers a great class where you can learn a TON about marketing if you spend the time necessary. He does a great job of relating current events and different companies to the material. Now turning that knowledge into a good grade? That’s the tough one. The issue isn’t the material though, it’s his questions on the test. From my experience, he has roughly 60-70% of the questions that are clear. What I mean by this, is that the question is clear, and there is a clear answer if you know the material. The problem occurs with the other 30-40% of the questions. It’s not so much that there are “multiple answers”, it’s that the question can be interpreted multiple ways. Being that he generally has five answer selections, three answers can easily be thrown out. Now, it’s up to you to determine how HE feels the question should be interpreted and select the correct answer. Of course, he will never admit to this and continuously defend how it’s his students fault for misinterpreting the question during his exam reviews (especially the ones where only 20-30% of the class got the question right). However, when a C is the average grade, it’s time for the instructor to look at himself.
