I'm taking McLaughlin. I had her for MADM 760, and it was extremely tolerable. While the quizzes could be tough if you weren't prepared, the total workload was extremely predictable from week to week, so you didn't have any heavily overloaded weeks like some classes do. The work was all nicely spread out, and there's significant value in that.
That said, it's a "teach yourself" class like a number of other classes in the program. I've heard teachers like Meeks and James have crazy workloads, but at the same time they appear to be teaching their classes. I don't mind the teach yourself format, but I really did like the level of interaction and "teaching" from Shaughnessy's class and wish more of the classes were like that.
