Hello, I hope someone can help me out with a few questions. I was recently accepted to LSUS and ULL in the online MBA program. In your opinion, which school is better recognized in the world? With my job, I travel alot and live in Germany at the moment. I read a post on page 90 where the responses were something like, "ULL is better in Louisiana but LSUS is better worldwide because of the LSU name." I would like a direct comparison between the schools without considering the LSU part of LSUS. I am only asking because I have never lived in Lousiana and don't know much about each school except that they are both state schools and have AACSB. Besides, most countries and companies know that LSUS is not LSU in BR. For example, the German Government has a list of each school from the United States and they even know that LSUS is not LSU in BR. From my research, I found that LSUS is a respected school and i am not suggesting that it is not; however, what would your advice be for me? ULL's online MBA or LSUS's online MBA? I noticed that the admission process was a bit more difficult with University of Lousiana Lafayette because I had to submit letters of recommendation and a Resume (even though my undergraduate CUM GPA was 3.1 and I was a business major) Second, does LSUS require a thesis? Last, is it hard to order the books on LSUS's online bookstore? Would it be a challenge to have them shipped to Germany? Do you think I could just order the book on Amazon from the ISBN number? Thank you guys/girls so much for helping! =) I hope the tone of this message did not come off as snobby. I am not bashing or suggesting that LSUS is not a good school because I know that it is. I am simply asking which of the two "good" schools would you recommend doing an online MBA with and I am not a fan of piggy back riding on other better known schools because of the name. Many UMUC students do this to University of Maryland, College Park and University of Maryland University College (UMUC) is also a state school and is good in its own right but it's not UMD.

I typed a response to this post three times and deleted it because it was so long lol. I’ll try to be brief and not go on a rant. I withdrew from UL last semester because of their poor instruction. All course material was through McGraw Hill and none of it was cohesive. It was not aligned properly at all, and the professor was merely our “professor on file” (this was actually said by the MBA director). By the time I withdrew, nearly half of my classmates did as well. I believe the issues were only with the foundation courses, but I didn’t get far enough into the program to find out. I took two courses and both had the same issues. I’m already having a better experience with LSUS in week two of my first course.
I don’t really have an opinion on UL vs LSUS reputation wise. I think if you work hard to earn an MBA from an accredited university, that is all that matters (in my opinion). Also, most of the textbooks in this program are free eBooks to save on cost for students, so no need to deal with a bookstore.
I’m sure someone who has been in the program longer than me will respond, but my time with UL was a nightmare and I felt compelled to share my experience. (Yes, this post is still too long).
