Jindal jumps the shark with reversal on Common Core

It's bad when Jindal is losing people like Sadow
With this, he sells out the last of his supporters: the pro-business, reform republicans (the chamber types) for Tea Party groups. Maybe if they (tea party folks) rally around him, it will be worth it politically, but I just don't see that happening.
He doesn't have much of a shot at being president, what shot he did have was based on education reform and a pro-growth agenda/record. This moves undermines both of those planks.

And if DOE additionally goes to court, or goes ahead unilaterally implementing and makes Jindal decide whether to take it to court, Jindal politically will have destroyed himself by this if the judiciary declares he can’t have a veto a rule thereby breaking the law and/or that acceptance of PARCC followed the law and/or DOA actions were illegal, for he convincingly can be painted as someone who did the wrong thing at the expense of the state. It may even emboldened critics to try to start unraveling his education reforms, if nothing else eroding the perception of his having policy successes in that area. Even if he were improbably to win these cases, it’s highly unlikely this would be resolved prior to the end of his term – and too late to bolster his credentials for any job-hunting in the federal government he might pursue for after early 2016.

I don't think he ever had a shot

Three thoughts:
1) Rare occurrence where BigJim and I agree on Bobby Jindal.
2) Losing Jeff Sadow as a supporter doesn't really mean loss of influence, but it is loss of his most loyal waterboy.
3) This was all about 2016 for Jindal, which is sad.

Common Core is going nowhere fast
Indiana, Texas, Neb, Virginia, Alaska, Minn, Florida, So Car, La, Okla, have all pulled out
Only 13 states are involved in PARCC assessments which is hardly a national curriculum or comparison. It will be like ACT and SAT, and no big deal if your state is not in CC
