You may need some kinda of amplifier. It depends on the signal strength in your area. You can hook up a cheap 10db distribution amplifier before the split and probably solve any potential problems.

I would try splitting it without the amp and seeing how it looks before buying the amp.

How many TVs are you splitting to?

3. 2 on the 2nd floor and 1 on the first floor. I'd like to, if possible, utilize the existing coax cables that are run to the tvs currently.
