The xbox is also a windows media center extender but to use it to get live tv you'd need to setup a tuner card on a computer.
I doubt you'll be able to access the coax before it splits anywhere other than where cox has their box on the exterior wall. You might be able to inconspicuously install a small antenna with enough range.
