You're right. But how would they prove it. If the players agree, then they would say "yeah, I'm hurt". And obviously the team wouldn't incriminate themselves. So there would need to be a whistle blower of some sort.

I doubt this is a big deal to anyone. It's not like we are stashing players that are in high demand.
