How does that make it a stupid comment? We tried a fake field goal with Alleman that gave Bama the ball at the 33. I would imagine Drew is 50/50 from that range. The chance of getting a first down there on that play has to be under 5% on 4th and 12 with a play designed in to give the ball to the kicker in the backfield.

So the defense forces them 3 and out, and we get the ball back at the 9. We drive down the field all the way to the 37 and kick a longer field goal on 4th and 4 (with a miss) - a fake field goal would have made sense there. Just going for it would have made more

We took away an opportunity to put points on the board, and it flipped the field position on us. Would you agree that it is a lot harder to score from your own 9 than your own 40?

It also ignores the wildcat on 4th and 1 then taking the ball out of Metts hand on 3rd down at the end of the game. We were conservative when the situation called for aggressiveness, and we were aggressive when we should have been conservative. Then we went to the other extreme against Clemson and threw the ball twice on 2nd and 3rd down with 2 yards to go.
