What's weird is that people think we have zero responsibility for one another yet seem to go along with this assertion that being creatively limited was destroying Dave Chappelle as a human when there are a billion people that don't have enough to eat.

What do poor, starving people care if Dave Chapelle cancels his show? Is he hurting them by not telling jokes on a TV that they don't even own?

Look, no one is throwing a pitty party for Chapelle. We are saying that he doesn't have to do a job he doesn't want to do just to help people close to him. These people were paid for what they did.

He should have brokered a better deal if it was that bad.

Why? Why can't he just quit? I am really having trouble understanding why you believe he has to keep working.

Chappelle was not able to create his wealth alone

The people who worked with him were paid, no?

but he was able to strip wealth from others on his own

Who did he strip wealth from? We're people giving Chapelle money against their will?

quote:

Responsibility comes with that power. He was the only one that could broker the deal and the only one that could walk, tearing it all down.

Dude...it was HIS deal to tear down. Who signed the contract? Who did the the contract obligate to perform?

Why is Chapelle responsible for some person who got a job as a result of that contract? The person was paid a salary. That's all he was owed.
