Your First LSU Football Game?

When was the first LSU football game that you attended and who were they playing?
I'll never forget my first LSU football game, it's considered one of the best in Tiger Stadium history, and it was definitely an awesome experience. LSU vs. Tennessee, on September 30th, 2000, when LSU defeated Tennessee 38-31 in OT. When Robert Royal caught that TD in overtime, the stadium erupted, it was definitely a vintage Tiger Stadium experience, especially for me being my first LSU football game. I've been to several games since, but none have topped that one.

Turkey Creek Tiger, wasn't that the game that started LSU's current win streak over Miss. State? The one that went to double overtime right?

Mine was some time in 81 or 82. I would have been 6/7 years old and I don't remember who we played.

I just looked it up, yep, the game you went to is the one I'm thinking of. They played on October 21, 2000, and LSU won 45- 38 in OT.

LSU vs. Houston, 1996
It felt like every person in the stadium left incredibly tired. One of the more tiring, frustrating games I've ever seen. Kevin Faulk was an absolute animal in that game. He just decided he was going to win, and dragged everyone there with him.

LSU vs Auburn, Pat Sullivans Heisman year. LSU 21, Auburn 20. I was a Boy Scout usher.

The first one I can truly remember going to (although there were many I went to before that) was Charlie McClendon's last regular season game, in the Superdome- a loss to Tulane- in 1979.
I remember everyone was talking about it because he had been at LSU so long.

LSU-Arkansas 1995
We won 28-0. The next game I went to was the Vanderbilt game with the gold jerseys, and we shut them out too. I was hoping the streak of my attendance bringing shutouts would continue, but it sadly did not.
