Probably alot of truth in that statement...with the computers and electronics these trucks have in them today I could easily see issues with all the makers down the road. Would be like a phone / computer company not providing support for that type of software any longer. Almost forcing you to upgrade.

I think the opposite is true. Vehicles are lasting much longer than in the past. Seeing a 10 year old truck with 150k+ miles is not uncommon now. People fully expect 100k miles of nothing but oil changes these days and just a few years ago a new motor at 100k wasn't a surprise.
