Yeah. Now that I look at it again, your barrel would have to be roughly 3-4" if that was the can underneath. 
I've got a few handguards like that (Spikes and Seekins). You're probably right in being able to hit the QD through the rail.
So what's the hold up with the can?? Still deciding? Funding?

Funding. Some shite came up but hopefully by July I'll have enough set aside for it.
