Depending on the weather, the highway to Breck from Denver airport can sometimes close because of the wind/snow.
Breck as a town is really cool but it's pretty crowded if you're looking to ski. There are better resorts that you can go to that won't be as crowded if you're not dead set on Breck.
Any reason other than family that you chose Breck?
