Group D/B are tougher from the standpoint of each having 3 great teams and one of them being left out of knockouts regardless.
That Costa Rica is a much tougher 4th team than Australia and that The Netherlands have some key injury concerns so far make me think Group D is even a bit tougher.
Group G is tough in the sense of the having strongest 4th best team by a decent margin.

Group G's the toughest. It's really not close. Two good teams, at the least (possibly one great/one good, if there are upsets) are guaranteed to not advance. In Group D and (especially) Group B, it's three teams competing for two spots. Only one good team isn't going to advance in those groups. In Group G, it's four teams competing for two spots.
