I remember sitting there between chapters on MGS4 watching it download while Snake sat there smoking for a good 5 or 10 minutes. "How many different times does this game need to download?"
MGS4 had long installs in between each chapter. It was writing stuff to your HDD, not downloading anything.

Really? My ps3 is by far my slowest device for download speeds.
It's about the same. I'm using one of the new PS3s to download things though (bought last Christmas), so it's possible the WiFi on the older PS3s are crap. My 360 is one of the first models that have HDMI, so it's a solid 4 years old at least.

I have it on Wifi now but it was a direct connection in my old house with the same issue. Curious, what are your home download speeds?

I get that every person has a different experience, but I got my PS3 not long after getting a 360 (being single), and I've experienced updates and game downloads on both, and the PS3 has been the worst by a longshot.

60mb/s down/10mb/s up is what I get on my desktop in optimal conditions. (so, best I get on downloads if around 4-6MB/s). My crappy router max output is less than half, so I get 800kb/s to 1.5 MB/s depends on service.
