While I agree that a home and home series would be preferable, I don't really see what all the fuss is about. LSU is making a smart decision by beefing up their out of conference schedule with a brand name that we're all confident we can beat. Seems like this is a great strategy, especially with the new playoff format.

You are right that scheduling a Miami is good for the future. It's a quality opponent and would be helpful in the new playoff format. But it's not only about the matchup, but also where the matchup occurs. There is clearly no concern towards appeasing season ticket holders who are growing sick and tired of the increasing costs and the seemingly decreasing quality of the OOC games (and yes, I am a season ticket holder). It also seems those in charge of scheduling have zero qualms about giving potential tax revenues from a home game in Baton Rouge to other locales outside of the state. As a taxpayer in this great state, I take major issue with that.
