it really depends on your age...if you're in your 20s...you wanna live on the plaza or in Westport or possibly downtown. if you're alil older getting married have a kid, fairway, prairie village, leawood, mission hills if you've got money. or the mo side close to border. then Olathe n lenexa are nice but you're getting far south of kc. there's also areas north of kc that are nice and Lee's summit but I'm not very familiar with them. really depends on your age

I would live outside of the immediate metro, but I really don't like large cities. The KCMO public schools aren't good, but there are several good suburban districts. I would look at Parkville and Riverside to the north, or even Smithville if you don't mind being a little farther out, or if you want land. South I would look in the zone from Lee's Summit to Grain Valley.
