Yeah that's what I thought. I just figured since 2 teams get out of a group which would be a better scenario after the 1st matches.

For example:

US - 3
Ger - 3
Port - 0
Ghana - 0

or

US - 3
Ger - 1
Port - 1
Ghana - 0

With each team have 2 more games left it just seemed like it might be a better scenario to for the US to have 2 teams with 0 pts going into their 2nd game than to 2 have 2 teams with 1 pt.
