I don't personally know a single IRL black person who uses the term African-American. Not one. I only hear whites use it on the news and at diversity training panels.

That's pretty much been my observation too. Another word that I only hear White folks use is "biracial". The only Black person who I've ever heard refer to himself as biracial is Tiger Woods, and technically, he's not biracial, he's triracial.
