As someone who has lived in multiple places in both (currently North palm beach) I couldn't disagree more. Cali is exponentially more beautiful than Florida to me and the weather is much nicer as well. Better waves, mountains, and nicer populace as well. The liberal thing is a bit overblown in many places IMO and this is coming from a guy who drove almost 18 hrs round-trip to vote against Obama due to ballot not coming in mail.

Right. Most folks tend to congregate with people similar to themselves anyway.

You lost me on that one. I much prefer Florida's beaches. I prefer calm, warm water though. Clearer the better because I'm paranoid as hell about sharks and other sea monsters biting my junk.
Anyway, I agree with most of everything else you said. California is amazing. Could do without a lot of the people - but Florida has a people problem too.
