I've have the same slicer. After almost cutting my finger of with a Chefs Choice I bought this one. The first one they sent didn't work. Webstaurant replaced it and the new one works just fine. I've used it for home made belly bacon and Canadian bacon, This weekend I will be slicing some Homemade Buckboard bacon. Great slicer.

Thanks Unc., that's the type reply I was looking for. I think it is a great slicer, and for $286.00 money well spent.
Btw, what was the problem you had with the first one?
