Those are all great points, which I agree with. Very well said.
Unfortunately, I think older fans do have a sort of nostalgic effect where they refuse to accept this era can be as good or produce players as good. There is also an element of people who contend this era is better due to greater athletes, and shooters, evolved game and strategy. It's very difficult for most people to remove their biases and respect both in the same reverence.

Because nostalgia that's why. There will never be greater players than Magic, bird, Jordan. I bet if you go ask your great grandparents he'd spout off about how Russel, Wilt, Jerry West, etc were the greatest and no one could ever ever ever touch them.
