This.

There's criticism from different angles on his "predictions" but that's to be expected. He has some interesting TED talks as well.

ETA: There's a reason he's the director of engineering at Google.

One, i had no idea he worked for google now. Last book i read was spiritual machines some time ago. I've just been watching the shite come true and it's petty impressive.

Two, it's pretty easy to criticize when someone's making predictions on shite he cant possibly have data on. By its very nature, future tech is unknowable.

I'm optimistic about it. Honestly drunk at the moment, but optimistic. I'll probably be cynical and hungover tomorrow at work, 'we'll kill each other before we ever reach that level' will be a likely post from me tomorrow morning.
