Did TJ get rid of the Ruth's finally where it's corporate now?
He sold it to his manager at the time, Chris Bachman, a great operator that has continued the great tradition of food and service.
Sullivan's(Texas) and Fleming's(Florida) are both corporately owned, but Leo from Sullis and Larry from Fleming's give both stores a great local feel.
Ruth Fertel sold her interest in Ruth's Chris years ago prior to her death. Ruth's corporate offices moved out of Louisiana after Katrina. How is that locally owned?
ETA: Someone owning the local franchise doesn't really constitute a "locally owned steakhouse", imo.

Thanks for the history lesson.
It was the first restaurant after the original 2 nola locations and it has been owned by a local guy, per some people on this board.
Local enough for me.

I haven't seen Mansur's mentioned, it's been a couple years but they were always good. Has anything changed?
Someone mentioned Does, but it is a Mississippi original........

there is nothing people born in Baton Rouge love more than a chain restaurant, except maybe getting into wrecks on I-10.
I disagree, I-12.
