what are you missing?

How we go from not hosting a regional Wed. to talking bout hosting a super regional on Sat.

I'm not a college baseball RPI or SOS guy, but seems we must have had a good shot at a regional host spot prior to the tourney or we would have little shot at a super regional now.

LSU was like 20-6 coming into the SEC tourney if I recall correctly. I hardly think that equates to "playing terrible" 10 games before the tourney.

LSU could not afford to go 0-2 in Hoover. A couple of wins would have been a regional host spot, more than likely. But the difference between the next 12-14 after the top 5-6 was negligible heading into the conference tournaments. A strong finish is often a valuable "tiebreaker" and LSU is having a huge final kick.

Its all relative to the other teams. Basically 7-18 were really close together. Some on here seemed to have us around 14-18 range coming into the week me included.

It could be entirely possible that we were playing well coming in but not quite passed some of these teams. We have looked even more impressive this week against even better teams than Auburn and NWSt.

That coupled with the right teams losing multiple games have given us a shot.
