Everyone in America loves the "I can't take the time off" line. This is all too funny. If you told your boss you've got a once in a lifetime opportunity and need two weeks centered around a once in a lifetime commitment, they will relent or you should consider such an organization to be unworthy of your services.

You don't live in reality bud.

ETA: I could take off, but she hasn't been at her job a long time and she is the only nurse for her doctor who does several surgeries a day. She had really stretch to get 1.5 weeks.

And 13k is a shite ton of money man. We are 26 year old newlyweds. 10th anniversary I'm sure we'll do something like Thailand for a month, but its just not realistic at the moment and is HARDLY a once in a lifetime opportunity. Thailand's beaches are not going anywhere.

For Honeymoons look no further than ...

Nevis Island

You're away from EVERYTHING. Very few people on the island with you.

I'm with you, $13k is a lot but you don't have to go high roller. I was lucky to not have to foot the bill on the wedding so we took the gift money and had a ridiculous trip.

You can rent air conditioned bungalows for $30 a day.

Of that $13k, $5,000 was on flights and transport. We chartered a boat for $600 a day, huge waste but when in Rome.

Thailand a beaches will likely be ruined in a decade.

Want a great spot on the cheap, but something different, try Beunos Aires, The Paris of South America.
