I recommend gum in a batch of boxers or socks or something. First time I got a "lucky it was only your clothes". Second time I got "Just don't bother with the laundry anymore". . ok.

I don't do inside housework because the wife just comes behind me and does it over/better.

It's a mutual understanding.
