Just curious here. Are you saying that what you sell your clients isn't good enough for your own place? Or is there another reason.

I am about to hire a builder and I would be mighty pissed if I found out he had different standards for his place and mine.

I am hoping there is a reasonable explanation like "we don't do that type of construction." Help me restore my faith.

No, not at all. I offer the homeowner various options. Everyone is just stunned by the price of foam. I can afford the foam, so I'm looking at getting it done. Most homeowners would rather put their money somewhere else rather than foam. I usually at least push them to get Tech Shield roof decking because it will help out with the energy bill and keep your attic cooler. As far as builders, I consider myself one of the most honest ones. I have come across a bunch of them that will screw you however they can to get a dime. My parents worked very hard saving the money to build their house when I was a kid and it was a big investment for them. I think that's why I don't have the heart to screw someone, because for most families it is a lifetime investments. If I can help you or anyone on the OT with building questions or even need me to come look/help you with something on your home, I would be glad to.

New construction- had it installed whole house- 2500 heated/cooled plus pool. All electric. My bill is 165-200 year round. Will not live in house without the foam.
