Most of the R&B artists you listed had better stuff in the 80's, especially Whitney Houston and MJ. Metallica was terrible in the 90's, so move them to the 80's as well.
I'll give you country and rock. No idea on rap. It never interested me.

I agree with everything this dude said. All of these people mentioned were better in the 80s, not the 90s. Nevertheless, I agree with everything else the OP said and 90s music as a whole is very under appreciated and was a great decade of music.
