Which AMEX card to get?

So a Costco just moved into town. We go to Sam's Club already regularly but the wife wanted to check out Costco today and we did. She loved the place.
They only take AMEX For CC, and all I have is an AMEX blue I've had for years and had thought had probably expired to be honest with you, but it still works. Signed up for a membership and shopped with it, but figure I would get an AMEX card with some return.
Back in January got a Barclay's World Arrival MC and love the 2 points on all purchases. With the 40K they give you for signing up, I'm over 100K already.
AMEX card options? I'm open to whatever. I've considered, and mentioned on here before about the Delta one, simply because it's my carrier with the most flights and I fly the most. But I don't fly that much, a couple of times a year for work and once personal. Might go up a bit in a year or so, but not a lot.
What does the wisdom of the MT board have for me?

I recently got the Gold Rewards card. 3% on airline tickets and 2% on gasoline and groceries with 1% on everything else. Please note that stores like Costco fall into the 1% category.
The nice thing about Amex points is that you can transfer them to any one of about 20 travel partners and there are periods during the year when you can get a bonus to your points transfer.

You want points or cash?
Amex blue cash preferred is my favorite card
6% at grocery stores
3% at gas stations and dept stores
1% everywhere else
That's cash back too, don't have to worry about redemption restrictions or anything
75 annual fee but easily worth it IMO

What type of sign up bonus does the blue cash have?

Unfortunately 6% cash back at grocery stores doesn't apply to Costco. Nor do I believe 3% either. What a bummer.

The most bang for my buck honestly. I think the Barclay's card will get me a flight each year, but if I fly Delta a couple of times a year, that card could get me a couple of hundred dollars in bag fees.
It will only be used for Costco and perhaps other places where it pays better than Barclay's. Haven't looked into the Blue Cash Preferred. Cash back would be fine if that's the best deal.

True, but how much money does one reasonably expect to spend at a Costco each month
We spend way more at albertsons or the like each month than we do sams

No, but there's only so much you can buy in bulk
Assuming you don't have a very large family

We probably spend an average of $500 a month at Sam's, not sure how that will split off between Sams and Costco, now that there is one here.
That is why I was thinking of Delta, since I do see a couple of hundred dollars a year there and one ticket when you sign up.
I think I'm still going to be using Barclay's for everwhere but Costco, but could see spending several $K per year there, so that is why I'm looking for the best option.

I don't really see the benefit to that card
It only gives 3% for gas at Costco

I know....I have the blue preferred cash and have wondered if I can get the Amex Serve load it at a grocery store to get the 6%. Take it to Costco and buy a Costco cash card and get the 2% back through my membership. Then use the Costco cash card at the gas station for another 2%???? I dunno???

Amex now limits the grocery category to 6000 a year on the BCP card
People figured out the gift card logo so Amex had to limit it

but at costco you get 2% back on whatever you buy at year end if you get the exec membership. I pays for the membership fee for me
ETA: I use my Delta Amex there

I have the Capital One Rewards Card.
* No foreign transaction fees
* No annual fee
* 2% back on all purchases (not sure if that's the cash back rate but it'st he rate on best buy gift cards and other rewards)

Not an American Express card IIRC.

how much more is the exec membership there?
and i'm assuming it has nothing to do with getting the costco amex
again, i don't see any benefit to the costco amex, there are other amex cards with better benefits, though they have an annual fee

I got the blue cash preferred and got $150 after I spend $1,000 in 3 months. Not a large bonus, but I got it for the 6% back on groceries and 3% on gas.
