I agree. The worst part is the wondering. A 'nope' was almost better because it let me move on.
I was laid off from my first real job after 13 months. Then unemployed for 6 months. Then got a contract job which carried me 2 years until I finally got another direct hire last week. I start at the end of May. The whole 2 years I've been worried about my future. I can FINALLY look forward at ease now.

I'm being let go, along with hundreds of others from the same line of business, in about 4 more months. This has been a 20 year job for me which also means I haven't done the whole job search deal in 20 years. I'm out of practice.
