When I took a tech sales job
I'm expecting an offer tomorrow...a bit of a transition...from alone in a cube doing analyses to traveling and being the customer contact (sales if you will) basically setting up projects and interpreting the customer's needs - I think. I'm scared as frick. Turned 40 this year though, maybe scared is good?

I will say sales is not easy. You have to push yourself and be disciplined, but compared to the 8-5 plant job there was no comparison for me. You will be surprised how successful and rewarding it is once you establish a good relationship with your customers. Tech sales requires that you help solve your customers problems, and once you do, it is very rewarding both financially and emotionally.
PS- 40 is not too old. I was 38 and I never regret the decision. I loved my work but the only career growth for me was if my boss died.
