Nah, Silver put a ton of pressure on himself. How will he handle the next situation like this?
He really didn't have much of a choice.

The other option, a lesser suspension would have received a harsh backlash.

What he could of done, is went to Sterling and gave him the 411.

either be a dick and fight this, or let me help you sell this thing for a big price, and you quietly go away, and can rail on the nba and me as if we pushed you out. I'll even let you walk away slowly, so you look like you fought us till the end.

till then we let your wife take over day to day owner under the premise of a suspension, throwing a bone to the fire breathers.

Meh. You always have a choice. Making a hasty decision is not a good choice. It isn't the choice that a real leader makes. He took the extremely easy way out. People view Silver as some type of pioneer. He's a pansy who pandered, nothing more. The players should be licking their chops and wondering what else they can flinch about and get their way.

His abrupt action will prove to be bad for the NBA and owners. But, it is great for the players. They now know that they can create a storm and that this new Commissioner will bow down.
